June 16, 2018 – October 21, 2018
Exhibit Gala on Saturday, June 16 at 1:00 p.m.
Launched 60 years ago as a dramatic, bold, “POWER-IFIC” masterpiece, the Cockshutt 500 series tractor line was styled by the world’s foremost industrial designer, Raymond Loewy and constructed by equally skilled and seasoned Cockshutt engineers. This was an all-out campaign to re-establish the Brantford company as the industry leader in farm power technology.
The Waterford Heritage & Agricultural Museum proudly presents this new exhibit highlighting the Diamond Anniversary and the overall importance of the Cockshutt company and this tractor series. Featured is an extremely rare pre-production model 550 used for field trials by the company’s engineering department and fantastic print and film footage from the official 1958 world premiere.
The New Cockshutt – 60th Anniversary of the 500 Series exhibit opens with a special gala on Saturday, June 16 starting at 1:00p.m. all are welcome to attend.
The exhibit will remain in WHAM’s agricultural gallery until October 21, 2018. The museum is open Tuesday-Friday from 10:00a.m. until 4:30p.m. and Sunday’s from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. Admission by donation.
The exhibit is generously sponsored by the Canadian Industrial Heritage Centre (CIHC).
