Reid, Saxon, Dench & McCall – Early Furniture Makers of Charlotteville & Walsingham

The Furniture of Old Norfolk is a three-part exhibition put together by the Waterford Heritage & Agricultural Museum and the St. Williams Forestry Interpretive Centre. The displays highlight nearly 200 years of skilled cabinetry throughout the County. Part one opens July 20, 2019 at the St. Williams Forestry Interpretive Centre with featured pieces from makers Archibald Reid (Vittoria, Charlotteville Township), the McCall Furniture Factory (St.Williams), Ephriam Dench (Port Rowan), and Isaac Saxon (Port Rowan).

Part two and three will be launched in 2020 at both WHAM and St.Williams, featuring historical important pieces from Simcoe, Port Dover, Waterford and surrounding areas.

Work is currently underway on an extensive history and catalogue documenting the furniture trade in Norfolk County.
