A firefighter helps a child spray a hose

Campers from our WHAM Camp were thrilled to visit the Fire Hall in Waterford for our “Campers to the Rescue” week. Volunteer firefighters Scott and Rick took the time to show our campers a video on fire safety and a tour of the fire trucks. The visit was completed (and made super awesome) by having campers test out the fire hose.

We were also pleased to welcome OPP Constable Sandchuck into the museum to  talk about safety in our communities (and share some chocolate treats!)

Staff have been busy working with volunteers to collaborate on the upcoming L.E & N Railway exhibit. Being unveiled this summer, the exhibit will highlight the rich history of the railway in Waterford and Norfolk County.

Cathy Thompson at a blue table

On behalf of the museum staff, Advisory Committee, volunteers and friends, our sincerest condolences to the family of Cathy Thompson – she will be dearly missed.
The museum has lost not only a valued and long standing member of the Advisory Committee but a huge proponent of WHAM, Norfolk’s history through the United Empire Loyalists and a vast genealogical source of knowledge.
