Poster with orange tractor, detailing tractor drive event

Saturday September 17, 2016

28 Drivers traveled the scenic roads of Ontario’s garden on their heritage tractor for our annual Heritage Tractor Drive. The drive incorporated stops throughout the day that provided participants with a unique perspective of all that Norfolk County has to offer.

Stops included  Clonmel Estate, Norview Lodge and New Limburg Brewery (former Nixon Public School).

Drivers and their families were then invited to return to WHAM for a delicious meal served by our fabulous volunteers.

A firefighter helps a young boy spray a hose

Campers from our WHAM Camp were thrilled to visit the Fire Hall in Waterford for our “Campers to the Rescue” week. Volunteer firefighters Scott and Rick took the time to show our campers a video on fire safety and a tour of the fire trucks. The visit was completed (and made super awesome) by having campers test out the fire hose.

We were also pleased to welcome OPP Constable Sandchuck into the museum to  talk about safety in our communities (and share some chocolate treats!)
