Please join us on Thursday, November 29th at 7:00 p.m. for an evening presentation highlighting the history of the Brantford Pottery through images and research from Moe Johnson’s forthcoming book, The Potter’s Reach.

As a pottery enthusiast and collector of early Canadiana, Johnson brings with him an impressive background on the subject. This is a not to be missed WHAM event!

This is an admission by donation event.

Meet the Speaker:

The author of “The Potter’s Reach,” Moe Johnson, graduated from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University with an Honours BA, concentrating in finance, and earned credits in Russian History, and Chinese and Canadian Economic History.   He and his wife, Janice Johnson, have studied and collected important Canadian artifacts including stoneware and earthenware pottery, furniture, fraktur, textiles and folk art over a period of thirty-five years.  He has written various articles for The Upper Canadian magazine and its successor, Canadian Antiques and Vintage (CAAV) on 19th-century Ontario pottery and other subjects, and lectured on related topics. The author of the forthcoming book “The Potter’s Reach” founded and supported the Annual Cabin Fever Antique Show Lecture and Preview series in Kingston.

Skateboard Park & WHAM Fundraiser Poster

7:00 – 10:00 p.m.

It’s brews and boards – skateboards, that is! Tickets are now on sale for the joint Waterford Skateboard Park & WHAM fundraiser on Saturday, November 3rd.

Join us for a feel good ‘twofer’ and help support both our museum AND this wonderful new community initiative to build a skateboard park on the west side of our building. Delicious food and drink will be provided by Bonnieheath Estate Winery, New Limburg Brewing Company, Ramblin’ Road Brewery Farm and the Villa Nova Estate Winery. Catering will be provided by Kerry’s Eatery. Local musicians will provide entertainment throughout the night.

Tickets are $30/person and entitles you to food and 2 drink samples of your choice. Additional samples are can be purchased for $3 each. Tickets can be purchased at WHAM and Kerry’s St. James St. Eatery.

All proceeds will be shared equally between WHAM and the Waterford Skateboard Park.

Help Norfolk Pathways for People and the Waterford Heritage & Agricultural Museum celebrate 10 years of fantastic trails in Waterford!

Norfolk Pathways for People grew from local interest in a public health initiative aimed at building a walkable community – a community which encourages citizens to rely on their cars less and choose walking more often.

Join Pathways for People at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the silos on the west end of Nichol Street and then visit W.H.A.M. for refreshments and to view our latest exhibit, Potters of Brant and Norfolk.
